Jane overhears Perry, her new neighbour making an unkind but accurate remark about her, so when she and her friends win the lottery she splurges on a makeover and a weekend in Vegas, even though they haven't received their millions. Perry follows her to Vegas because he's worried a gigolo will take advantage of her, then he proposes himself for the rôle for the weekend. He's a lawyer, broke while awaiting a big settlement on his latest case. But Jane finds out he's short of cash and assumes her lottery payoff is his future influx of money. Will they sort out their misunderstandings?
The figures were off, which threw me a little. I liked Perry and how he regretted his comments and tried to make amends for his big mouth. I loved Jane's frugality at the start and the contrast between that and her efforts to splurge.

Hey Sadhbh!
I enjoyed this one. It was my first Stephanie Bond book. I have the rest of series, and hopefully can get to them soon.
Take Care,

did you enjoy the book?
Sounded a bit like a mixed review, was it?
Thanks
Nancy
Yes I enjoyed it, I didn't really identify with either of them
though which may account for my slight ambivalence

Just felt like pointing out that this is my 2000th book blogged
since I started the 100 book challenge in 2006 (still ROTFLOL remembering that Jayne thought she might get about a dozen takers for that challenge
)
Aren't I doing well?
DH would have another word for that, but we try and limit foreign language on these blogs

I agree with the review
I read this book and series in order. Sadhbh did a great review, I enjoyed the book as well. Don't we all wish we could do something if our feeling get hurt (or pinched) to try and remedy the situation. It truly could have ended badly if the H did not intervene.

Yeah, I do enjoy Blaze
Yeah, I do enjoy Blaze books, so I'm sure I'd like the series. (It's only too bad that I don't have access to as many Blazes as I do Presents! There aren't many Blazes at the library and I haven't seen huge lots of Blazes for sale on eBay! lol)
*hovers and keeps her eye out for 'em though*
