Lucas is a playboy with majority shares in the family corporation thanks to his mom, but his half-brother is seen as the "Brain" while he's the "Face". After another tabloid scandal and his father's stroke, he has to be good so a merger/takeover will go through. When visiting a Mexican orphanage as a PR photo op he feels attracted to one of the helpers and recognises a kindred soul in one of the kids, but he can't have another fling, so he proposes and they adopt the child, but he considers it a business deal as he doesn't know what love is to recognise when it hits him on the nose. Alicia is a victim of her grandparents puritanical outlook. Just before his death her grandfather told her the truth about her birth (her father was a gigolo and her mother one of his victims) which rocked her emotional foundations. She thinks it's a love match – how will she react when she finds out the truth?
I enjoyed this even though I didn't quite understand the brother's rôle. It seemed like it might be setting Lucas up for betrayal, but then it just fizzled out. I loved the way Lucas gave Alicia time to deal with things but missed the important point. I loved the ending.

I read
this a while back. I enjoyed the story, but also didn't quite get the brother's role. Alicia was so patient with Lucas....it was great! I enjoy Crystal Green's books!

Glad to hear you enjoyed this one too
There's another Crystal Green in the Montana Mavericks miniseries that I blogged today
