One Thing Leads To Another
Reconcilable Differences Ana Leigh – Christmas Stalking Jo Leigh

Max
Travis, a reporter from the Washington Post, wakes up in front of the
Lincoln Memorial after being drugged at a bar the night before. He gets
back to his car and drives home to find his friend Werner Edwards dead
on his living room floor and the sound of sirens coming in from
outside.
He grabs some clothes, his laptop, some hidden disks and throws them in
a duffle bag and flees the scene. We next see Max dressed as Santa as
he kidnaps Jade Parker, the daughter of Senator Parker, one of the
people his is investigating. He shoves her into her car, ties her up
and brings her to a cabin out in the boonies. He explains he does not
want to hurt her (in spite of the gun) but he needs to talk with her.
He wants her to read the information he has gathered on Geotech and her
father’s involvement in their contracts
Jade is terrified and wants nothing to do with him but he insists that
she give him a chance She tries several times to escape but he is
persistent and finally she agrees to read the files but refuses to
believe her father is guilty of anything. He is loyal and giving and
does his best for his constituents.Max is in contact with one other
person on the paper and with an FBI agent. He contacts them and gives
them information and they are also helping him with the investigation,
however his running from Werner’s murder and kidnapping of Jade does
not put him in a good light.
Jade gradually opens up to Max’s point of view (except about her
father) and agrees to help him. When Max is shot by a Geotech assassin
she tends to his wounds.
Together they gather evidence to help clear Max’s name
This was a good story if Max was a little wimpy for an investigative
reporter for a major newspaper. I enjoyed it
