#200 The Baby Wait by Cynthia Reese (Super #1415)

Sarah is an ovarian cancer survivor but unfortunately she can't have children so she and her husband Joe are adopting a baby from China IF they can get everything to go right. First the Chinese adoption bureau freezes adoptions, then they have doubts about her cancer coming back, then there are delays getting the additional paperwork and family problems intervene but they finally get the Call but throughout all their problems Sarah and Joe keep fighting about her eternal optimism and what she sees as his pessimism but he sees as realism. Will Sarah be gaining a daughter only to lose a husband?
I don't know why I left this in my TBR so long, especially given that I was so excited when Cynthia got the call about the Red Thread (original working title if memory serves me correctly). However it thoroughly deserved the special double oh spot, this was an EXCELLENT read and blew me away that this is her first book. I would have bought this book anyway because I used to hang out with Cynthia on the Super and NEXT threads, but having read it I'm thrilled that I have her second book in my TBR, and I won't be waiting very long before I read it. Another addition to my must-buy-and-read-straight-away author list
