I have such an obsession with the covers of books, and it was cool picking out my favs. I have a penchant for the historical covers especially - they're always so full of details. Also picking out the worst cover was fun, too!

Though i still find the butt one the ugliest picture. The nude and extracurricular activity one is like you said, to much information for sure, though there are alot of those kinds of covers for the erotica novels.
Novels are getting to be like television. Anything seems to go on a cover more and more these days.

I had to go look again and the butt is quite ugly. What a weird cover. I also thought that the one with the ugly lady and the creepy hand was ugly.
I went back and took another look too...
They are all pretty weird. The one with the geeky guy and the camera looks like it is from the 40's!

This was fun! I just went through and voted. I have to agree that the worst cover has to be the butt and what is with that title. Not a book I'd pick up based on those two things.
I had a little trouble picking out a cover under some of the other sections. I liked numerous. But I did manage to pick one in each. It's going to be interesting to see how many of the covers I chose will make it to the finals.

I'd think I say no thanks - don't publish it!! But, I guess, unless your a big name like Stephen King - the author doesn't get much say at all in the cover.

And in most cases the cover designs for their book probably isn't something that keeps them up at night, but after that 2006 cover was published, I bet the author suffered some major anxiety. On the other hand, an outrageous cover like that just might make people pick up the book to see what's on the inside... it would interesting to see how well it sold.
