Selena Shaw Jones is trying to cope with the residual stress from her last hostage crisis and the stupid male instructor who thinks her position teaching at the CIA training facility is a cushy job, when her hubby Cole gets sent back to retrieve a defector and goes missing, so Selena is sent to find him, with the stupid male instructor as her backup. Will he trust her to know her job? Is there a mole in the local office? Will they find Cole before his superficial wound goes septic? Will they be able to stop the "surprise" terrorist attack and get the defector out in time for his secrets to be useful?
I loved the way Selena and Cole trusted each other, even when surrounded by fools, I felt a little disappointed that there wasn't more closure with Dobry, but loved the suspense and the conclusion, especially the horse. This has me looking forward to the rest of the Athena series, which I presume resolves the whole Arachne problem.
I bought this from the UK site but forgot that little detail and then was totally perplexed when it had an ad for "The Medusa Project (available in March 2007)", because I KNEW it had been longer than that since Jack put the girls through hell. I think I'm going to have to reread me some Medusas
