Paralegal Kate has always been a small-town girl with plans for a career as a lawyer, then a home and family, so she's concentrating on her studies first. Her boss is willing to take her on when she succeeds, but she doesn't know if that's the best career move. Then hunky photojournalist Tyler moves in next door and her colleague thinks he's her new boyfriend so she lets her believe that, but Tyler's twin sister works for her company and believes the rumour. Then her surrogate grandmother neighbours start matchmaking like crazy, one determined to see her settled with Tyler, the other determined to become a real grandmother by settling her with nerdy Niles. Can Kate believe that Tyler might settle down or will her hopes be dashed?
Nora's interference at the end bugged me, I didn't quite see what Patti contributed to the story - I would have preferred more pages of interaction and romance between Kate and Tyler.
