I first heard about this book on Shiloh Walker’s group and there had been a couple of excerpts. Being as I consider her an autobuy, this book was high on my list to get. But it took me awhile to get it, but not long to read it once it was in my hands. Another excellent story by an author that I really enjoy!
BOOK READ:
Shiloh Walker; Always Yours; Samhain Publishing, Ltd.; TPB publication Sept 2007
SYNOPSIS:
Kirsten (Kris) Everett has often had dreams that she can’t ignore, but she usually doesn’t have enough information to do anything until it’s too late. That is, until she has a dream where her best friend’s very attractive younger brother life is in extreme danger on his next mission. This time she's able to issue a warning: Too bad Dylan didn’t listen.
Dylan Kline is an Army Ranger and has been extremely attracted to his older sister’s best friend, and editor, for many years. But even so, the warning that she gave him from a dream just doesn’t make sense ~ until he’s lying on the ground with a bullet in his back.
Even once Kris and Dylan find each other again, there is danger very near. Will they have a chance at love, or will they lose everything?
MY NOTES:
Wow…. This story was way more than I had thought it would be. It’s got a strong paranormal element to it which adds greatly to the suspense throughout and the romance, like much of Shiloh Walker’s books is steamy and wonderfully erotic. Excellent adventure all the way through… and I really, seriously hope that there are more stories coming out about some of the other characters ~ YoWZA!

Shiloh Walker...
I read this one last year and really enjoyed it. I still like the books better in the Hunters series (those I've read anyway) but a very good book regardless. I think I have another one of hers from Samhain in my TBR pile here....

Actually I didn't even know that Nikki had a book until I started to read this one; reading about Wade and Nik I began to wonder if there was a story about them.
Of course, then I checked the website, but was dismayed to find out that No Longer Mine was no longer in print... ARGH!
So I did what a bookaholic always does ~ checked out eBay and lo-and-behold there was a seller with this very book for a very reasonable price... even with the shipping. Needless to say I bought it and now just have to wait.
I did notice that on her website, Shi said that Her Best Friend's Lover and No Longer Mine were loosely connected... I'm going to have to read HBFL again ~ not that that's going to be a difficulty.
Debi, as I mentioned above I recently read Her Best Friend's Lover... I really liked that one as well. And now, having at last found the only of Shi's Hunters books that I haven't yet read ~ Rafe & Sheila ~ I'm all set!
I still have three of her eBooks that I haven't read yet, but I'll get to them soon. I'm finding that I really like eBooks... I get 'em right away and I don't have to find shelf space for them!

Why can't we live next door to each other and share books. I have minimum 2000 and you probably have that many.... Think of the money we would save LOL
I have not read Shiloh Walker's books yet but I have 3 in THE PILE. There time will come...

Sharing...
... would be great! The only person that lives near me that reads anywhere near the way that I do is my mom... and that's it! And she's just started to read so much since my dad died ~ almost 4 years ago now.
It's kinda funny actually: when I was growing up dad always read and mom never did... well, she'd read, but I rarely, rarely saw her sit down and just read. Seems that when she would sit down with a book, my dad would want to talk ~ everytime... It got to the point that she just gave up... LOL What a guy!

I kept hearing so much about this author and I like her name so I wanted to try one by her. It was Her Best Friends Lover. I just finished that and have to blog about it. I really enjoyed it. It was very emotional. I was wondering if Nikki had her own story. She is only in the book for a moment but she is mentioned often and had a happy marriage so it seemed like she must.
This one, with the paranormal elements, sounds really good.
Margie :)
Her Best Friend's Lover
I don't have this one so now I've got to hunt it down! I've found quite a few of her older, Ellora's Cave print titles and I'm assuming this from the same publisher....

I am surprised
that I still haven't read this author. I have some of her books, but they are out of sequence and I am still looking for the first ones. I refuse to start them out of order like I did with Lora Leigh's Breeds. I have heard so many good things about SW that it makes me even more determined to find those books. Because really, what I need is more books. LOL
New Books..
But OF COURSE you need new books!!!
The D2K Paranormal Junkies 2008 Challenge
Hey all...
Margie, I really liked Her Best Friend's Lover ... and as you say it was quite emotional at times. Of course now I'm going to have to go through it to find Nikki! I can hardly wait until I get Nik's and Wade's story.
Debi, it is an earlier EC release. I actually have the eBook and it was released in 2003. But I've seen it around in online bookstores like Amazon and the Canadian Chapters / Indigo.
Jill, yeah it can be very confusing and I've gleaned every little bit of info from whatever source I could... then proceeded to read the books so out of order it wasn't funny. Now for me that's not really a problem because knowing spoilers doesn't bother me at all.
Below I've listed the link to her printable list and going by the other links on her site, this is the best one for describing the order and why. I can give you some more information if the link is too confusing.

Deb.... peeking at the end is not a spoiler... you usually know who gets who...it is almost a moral imperitive to peek.... (I always peek... just a little ...my bad)
I would love to move next door. It would be lots of fun, HOWEVER, you live in Canada which is extremely beautiful but they have a LOT of WHITE S#%T. The only good part is that all the good UBS's are there.... Guess we have to keep it long distance. LOL

Spoilers...
It IS a moral imperative, isn't it? LOL And I actually peeked at the end of the last Harry Potter book. Some of my friends were absolutely HORRIFIED but I had to know what happened before I could read it!

Spoilers....
OMG! Debi you are a woman after my own heart! You too Jeannie. Wow! And I found out just this past Christmas that I have a niece who's the same way... I was tickled pink! I think Kirsten was too ~ someone else knew what she meant when she said she had to read the end!
All my life I've read the end of the book ~ like you Debi I need to know where the book's going to end so that I can enjoy the journey there. 'Cause I'll tell you, if the end is sad or not acceptable, I'm not usually inclined to read it ~ which is why, if a book appeals in a bookstore and I've not heard anything about it (and that's a big part of why I love this place!) then I need to know if it's going to be a happy ending.
Of course I don't need to do that with romances, 'cause you know that they're going to end right.
Jeannie ~ you crack me up!! "...Canada which is extremely beautiful but they have a LOT of WHITE S#%T."
Hmm, can I take it that you object to snow?
We've only got about a foot right now ~ and 'cause we live inland we don't get the huge, wet, sloppy dumps that they do on the east coast... of course if you lived in Vancouver or Victoria, they don't get snow at all... or at least not much. Rain, on the other hand, they do get! I'll stick with the "WHITE S#%T" thank you! At least we have more blue sky.
Mad, yeah I've got the books ~ or will have ~ them in the opposite forms as you. Of course if No Longer Mine is as good as the other two, I might just have to break down and get HBFL in print as well.

Knowing where a book is going...
Exactly! I think my desire to peek at the end came after I read an entire book chock full of sadness and pain, expecting a happy ending... only to have the main character get killed in the end! So now I peek!!
The D2K Paranormal Junkies 2008 Challenge
EXACTLY!!!
And that's the same for me... all the angst and hoping that it would end well and it didn't... jeepers that was SUCH a downer!

The Back
I don't like to know the end. However, there was a book that I was loving until the very end when the heroine died! I was so angry and in tears. I had to peek the next time I tried one of her books. But I normally do not take a look at the back.
Margie :)
LOL
lots of kindred spirits. I don't want to read a book where the heroine dies at the end. Even in a murder mystery. I have peeked at the end of a book since I was a kid. As for spoilers, I just read a review... if you can call it that... where they stated they were surprised in book 3 of the series that the dead character was alive.... I don't want to read that in a review.... I read spoilers.... I think that a review should peak your interest not divulge the plot.
Kathy - don't like snow. I have a 110 ft driveway and live on a hill. I am also old and decrepit and not as steady on my feet as I should be ... nothing that losing 50-100 lbs wouldn't cure - but snow makes me feel insecure.
Jeannie

Bad endings and peeking...
LOL... well, before my oldest daughter (but 2nd child) left home she was ALWAYS after me to NOT read the end.... It got to the point where she threatened to rip out the last chapter of any book that I read ~ now I mean, Really! Of course, I told her that doing that to one of MY books... well, suffice it to say that I can be a real mean motha! LOL
So when Lisa left home last year, my youngest took over her job as book-enforcer.
HaH! I laugh at danger.

Snow...
I can see your point Jeannie... 110 feet of driveway on a hill? OUCH! Yeah, our driveway is more like 50 - 60 ft... and nice, flat terrain. Much better.
