I'd already read a version of DP's story in More Than Words, about the divorced mum down on her luck who brings food from restaurants to people who need it and falls in love with a cop. Still just as powerful and proceeds from UK sales go to the Breast Cancer campaign. MW's story about a society bride in love with the cousin who's supposed to give her away at the wedding rubbed me totally the wrong way. I found it intense but nerve-wracking – an unavoidable visceral reaction. I may reread it after a while to see if it was just my mood. NFM
