24. Marriage Most Scandalous by Johanna Lindsey, Pocket Books Romance, 2005.

PhotobucketThis is a historical romance and I just love these types of stories.  This is a wonderful book and is probably the best one I have read so far this year.  Johanna Lindsey is definitely on my autobuy list now.  She is right up there with my other 2 favorite historical authors, Stephanie Laurens and Sabrina Jeffries!  This book has it all...romance, suspense, mystery, surprise, love, and passion!!  Con't...

Back Cover:

When Sebastian Townshend, son of the eigth Earl of Edgewood, was banished from his family due to the tragic results of a duel, he vowed never to return to England.  Now living on the continent, Sebastian has forged a new identity as a deadly mercenary, The Raven.  But his former neighbor, Lady Margaret Landor, has different plans for him.  Back in England, Sebastian's father has had several accidents and Margaret suspects foul play and deception that reach as far back as the infamous duel.  Convinced that only Sebastian can set the situation to rights, Margaret arranges a scandalous bargain with him that includes Sebastian's returning home as her husband.  As the newlyweds uncover a deadly scheme, a fierce passion blossoms between them, which neither anticipated--and neither can resist.

My Opinion

I loved this book and thought the story had everything you could want as a reader.  There is no doubt in my mind that I will be looking for and buying more books from Jahanna Lindsey!!

The story started off with the duel that ended up having an outcome that was never suppose to have happened.  Sebastian ended up being banished from his family and left England that very day.  Sebastian never ever thought he would go back to England...until he came across Maggie again.  Maggie made it so that he had no choice but to go back and help his father.

Once he was home the only way he gained access to his former home was because he was Maggie's husband.  Shortly afterward his father has another accident and Sebastian sets off to investigate.  Because Maggie and Sebastian were web they end up sharing a room together and after a while the passion they feel for one another is just too much to handle.  But what will ever become of them when Sebastion is dead set on leaving England once he figures out whatever it is that is going on.  Will they be able to remain together?  Can Sebastian ever get over his past so he can have a future?

There is a mysterious plot in this book and I have to say that there were a few things that surprised the heck out of me.  An EXCELLENT story and I fully recommend it!!!!
