Bax is a detective about to take voluntary retirement due to disillusion, who's investigating the murder at Hush. He has his ideas of what goes on at that hotel but concierge and witness Mia sets him straight. She's doing her best to solve the murder, and with her inside contacts and knowledge she realises Mexico is important but how does it link all the suspects. She fights her attraction to Bax because he can't sleep with an informant and she could be risking her job. Then someone tries to kill her and Bax realises protecting her is his #1 priority. What about his retirement plans?
I loved the first Hush series and so was delighted when I heard there were more books on the way. This was great, with little glimpses of the characters I knew and loved and some great new characters to discover. Add to that a nice suspense and whodunnit and it fulfilled all my reading desires. Goody goody there's another Hush story available in May.
