David is jealous of Lucas and aware he went totally overboard over Lucas's wedding so he takes a vacation and meets Naomi at a laundromat when he's trying to repair a runaway child's tomato sauce damage. He'd like to be able to reinvent himself as Dave and Naomi is trying to protect her unborn child from its father who wants it aborted, but will she be able to trust David when he hasn't been honest with her? What if he goes back to his old ways?
I really didn't like David in the first book so was dubious about this one, but he genuinely wanted to change and just wasn't sure how to tell Naomi the truth, not from a desire to deceive her but just because first they didn't know each other well enough and then it went too quickly and the moment was lost. I liked the way he protected the baby's interests at the end.
