#260 Hired by the Cowboy – Donna Alward (HR #3954)

Alexis nearly faints in front of Connor and when he needs a bride and realises she's alone and pregnant they strike a bargain. He gets his trust fund and she gets a breathing space to sort herself out. But falling in love was never part of the agreement!
I loved the way they were honest with each other, the way she won over his grandmother, the way she supported him when things started going very wrong. Very enjoyable with a nicely realistic outcome.

I loved this one

That moment (I think it's page 71) when the grandmother asks Alex how long it's been since she's been loved just had me all misty-eyed. And then poor Connor comes home to see Alex crying all over his grandmother, well . . . Donna did great heart-string tugs on this one.

Sadhbh

I've read them both.

I wait very impatiently for the next one of Donna's books to come out, and they get read the day they show up on my doorstep.

I don't know what it is, but the way she writes just grabs me right where it's at, and I can't put her books down until they're done, and even then I go back and re-read parts because I don't want the story to end so soon.

I'd still like to lay my hands on the Samhain one from the US, but haven't figured out how to get hold of it yet.  Anyone want to volunteer to send it to me?  It's "The Girl Most Likely" or something like that.
