Gavin went to jail because his father-in-law was involved in the construction of substandard buildings and when a man got injured and his f-i-l died, someone had to take the rap. Just before he went to jail he broke up with his wife so he never knew she was pregnant until years later when he sees his son in a supermarket. He insists on moving in to get to know his son but doesn't recognise the fiercely independent waitress his wife has become. Can she trust him again or is he the controlling husband she fears? How will she react when she finds out he's refused a new job without consulting her because it will mean he has to move?
I enjoyed this, and loved both Gavin and Sam though I really didn't get why she was so stubbornly independent and determined not to let him help.

Hi Sadhbh
I read a Desire by this author last year or the year before and I loved it. I haven't seen any other books by her. What month/year is this book?
