This book is three separate stories about three half brothers. One is legitimate and the heir while the other two are not.
The first story is called A Deal is a Deal and is about Rand Alexander and Phoebe Garrison. Rand is the eldest but illegitimate brother. Phoebe had once been engaged to Carter the younger legitimate brother. Carter had dropped Phoebe and left town. Because of this and because Rand had lost his wife and child a short time before they became friends as a comfort to each other. However, Phoebe's feeling were more and when Carter returns to town and the opportunity arises she can't resist making him a deal.
The second story is Carter's story. Carter has returned to town, but not for the reasons everyone thinks. Everyone also doesn't really know why he left. He finally gets the nerve to approach Daisy Jackson with the fact that he believes she wants him as much as he wants her. He just intends one kiss but they both get crazy which proves to him that they can be married. Carter doesn't believe that he can love but because of the way he feels about Daisy he believes that he can be faithful. Daisy has always secretly loved Carter so when he proposes marriage as a means to meet the requirements of his father's will but also because he wants to make it a real marriage she agrees.
The third story is about Colton the youngest brother. Neither Rand or Carter were aware that Colton existed until Carter's vengeful mother told them. In this story Colton awakes in Vegas with a gorgeous showgirl in his bed. He can't remember anything and sneaks out without waking her. He is heading to the Mexican island where his mining company is working. He feels guilty and plans to try to find out who the girl was and apologize after this job, but six weeks later she arrives. She claims that they are married. Because he was drunk and doesn't remember he questions her and she finds out that he doesn't even remember her name. Carter can't help but feel the connection between them and has been dreaming about their night together ever since. Now he wants to keep her and she is determined to get a quicky Mexican divorce.
I really like Lucy Monroe and have read serveral other books by her. I picked this one up because it sounded like several fun bad boys and who doesn't love one of them. The stories are very sexy and I think pretty sweet too.
"It is to the credit of human nature that, except where its selfishness is brought into play, it loves more readily than it hates."
