Alyssa is being "persuaded" to marry to consolidate her groom's claim to the Verdonian throne, but minutes before the ceremony she's kidnapped and Merrick, Verdonia's head of security tries to convince her not to go through with the wedding but she's afraid for her mother's life. Will Alyssa give in to the inexplicable attraction between her and Merrick? Will he help her save her mother?
I didn't like the premise because I don't like women being forced but there were extenuating circumstances and arguments and this turned out better than I had expected.

I think I read this. I was expecting something like the online read, which really got my hackles up, so I was pleasantly surprised. Not what I would read on a daily basis, but…then I don't like Presents and not many Desires.
