#319 Accidentally Expecting by Michelle Celmer (SSE #1847)

Zack and Miranda were rivals in the self-help book circuit and after a heated radio show they fall into bed together but they have nothing in common so go their separate ways the next day, but then Miranda gets pregnant and Zack insists on moving so he can be involved in his child's life from the start. She's determined to stay single, he's equally determined to marry her but they have to keep their relationship secret because of their opposing lifestyles. Which of them will win their war?
Zack's attitude really really bugged me and yet he wasn't called to task on it at all, so this one didn't work at all for me. In fact the ending struck me as so divorced from the beginning I wondered if I hadn't fallen into an alternate reality scenario. Yes I got that she loved him, but let's face it, while I love my husband, it hasn't made me abdicate my intelligence or my principles. And yes I remember pregnancy hormones but they can't be held responsible for a totally inexplicable 180° change in attitude. I'd be interested in other peoples' opinions if they've already read this. It's well-written, but it's like somebody zapped the channels half way through and I couldn't follow it any more, but that may just be me.
