New To Me - I got the the end of a series YEA!
When Brooke Garrisons father's will was read she was distraught. She felt betrayed that the father she loved and trusted had another family he never told them about. That evening she spotted Jordan Jeffries in her brother, Stephen's hotel bar. She told the bartender to tell him drinks were on the house. They got together and the rest is history.
When she announces she is pregnant, she knew Jordan would be told. After all, his brother, Emelio is engaged to her twin Brittany. Jordan shows up at her office and tells her they are getting married. Brooke is really tired of people, men especially, TELLING her what to do. She is not going to be pushed into anything. Jordan agrees to go slow and they will 'date' at her place or his til they get to know one another better.
The Sunday dinner at mom's is a fiasco, and the news is leaked to the media. Mom is drinking more heavily and hurting everyone with her barbs but Brooke is getting the worst of it.
This is the grand finale to the Garrisons mini series and I have to say I quite enjoyed it. Jordan has to learn how to lose some of his Alpha around Brooke and she needs to learn to trust in him and the possibility of having a live together with him.

I ordered this and read it without reading all the others in this series. I really enjoyed it. I got it just because it was written by Cathy Mann and didn't even notice till I rec'd it that it was a series. There were a few things I was confused about but I thought it worked well as a stand alone.

I know what you mean. I hate ordering one and finding out I didn't understand what was happening because this is book 6 and I didn't read the rest. She covered the previous books pretty well and it does work as a stand alone. I did enjoy the series.
