39. Daughter of the Flames by Nancy Holder

Daughter of the Flames by Nancy Holder

Book 1 of The Gifted, Silhouette Bombshell #93 Jun 2006

First book in this series- one you can't plan on skimming, you'll miss too many details.  Isabella has no idea what's going on except that her nightmares have grown worse.  She's always had bad dreams around the anniversary of her mom's death- but these nightmares are more real.

Then she begins to hear voices in her head... at first chalks it up to not enough sleep.  Then she realizes that some of it's from other people's minds!  She feels like she's being watched... and then it gets worse and finds her intuition sending off huge warning bells and another voice in her head talking to her... and she's talking back!

It's the beginning of a new reality for Izzy, one she's nowhere near prepared for.  She meets Jean-Marc who gave her the initial warnings, but then seems to take her somewhere and not want to release her.  He begins to tell her about powers and magic and all sorts of other things she finds nonsensical.  Until more things happen and she sees the truth in some of what he says.

Fast paced romantic fantasy with a ton of suspense and wondering what will come at Izzy next!

"Don't be afraid; just believe." Luke 8:50

Hmm.  Sounds interesting.

Hmm.  Sounds interesting.  I'll have to keep an eye out for it.

The great gift is the passion for reading. It is cheap [Hah! It most certainly is not!], it consoles, it distracts, it excites. It gives knowledge of the world and experience of a wide kind. It is moral illumination. ~ Elizabeth Hardwick

This is one...
