Caine and some of the Hell's Eight are asked by the preacher to rescue kidnapped women and they arrive to find one woman daring to fight back, but the other women treat her like dirt. She's been abused by her "guardian" and when they bring them back to town, Caine marries Desi to save her from him, but because of her past has trouble teaching her to trust him and become the wanton loving woman he needs.
I liked the way this set up the Hell's Eight series, loved the way Caine was good to Desi, without really knowing how to treat her, am looking forward to Tracker and Shadow's stories in particular

Hey Sadhbh!
I loved this one, and loved Caine! I thought he was a real sweetheart.
I don't know how to do spoilers here, but I was wondering what you thought of the outhouse scene? I was laughing out loud

I'm hoping they'll fix the colors soon so that we can do spoilers
again, because it being a PG13 site I'm always wary of the detail I can
put in about a Spice. At least if someone has to use the cursor to see
it, innocent minds are protected

This one is in THE PILE
I got it because many raved about it in the last Challenge blog. I am looking forward to reading it. I only wish it was not trade size as the bigger ones hurt to read.

Yes I am a readalholic and I don't want the 12 step program!!!
actually Jeannie I made a mistake
this was the ebook, I would have preferred the print book but hadn't already ordered it and didn't want to delay things
Sometimes
reading makes me antsy but I don't have an ereader, and having to stay
seated at the computer to continue reading gets ever so slightly on my
wick

I really need to
read this author. Everyone is so positive about her. I'm gonna have to add it to the list.
Hey Sadhbh
I loved this book. I'm looking forward to more from Sarah. It's going to be a long wait for the next one though.
Add some SPICE to your life.
Not a long wait
Only 6 months Lorie. That's not too bad.

"Only 6 months. That's not too bad"
That's a very subjective pov Sarah, six months is a LONG time when you're impatiently awaiting a sequel
Yes of course we can (and do) read other books while we're waiting
but it doesn't tend to make us less impatient or less anxious to read the sequel
at least that's THIS readaholic's pov

Me too Sadhbh...
Me too! And you expressed it so well.
There's just something about getting so caught up in a story and with the characters that waiting to continue is like being apart from a much-beloved person for any length of time... You REALLY miss them and want them to be back in your life ~ NOW!
Of course that's just my POV as well!

The outhouse scene
was LOL, and how about the rooster? And Desi was so disgusted with the remedy!
What a man Caine was! Strong and sensitive. And Desi was the kind of woman I admire - she did what she had to to survive. I loved all the Hell's Eight men and can't wait for the next book! I guess 6 month's isn't too long(
).
