#42 The Man Within, Feline Breeds II by Lora Leigh, Ellora's Cave 2005

Challenge: Does he fit the story?   Very well

Does he suit the heroine?  Very well

Would he suit you if the adventure was yours?  He is mated to her only

Does the guy on the cover represent your mental picture of the hero the author has penned and if you were casting a movie of this book, who would play the hero?  Cover is not very clear -  I have to think on this one

Tabor Williams has taken care of Roni since he first found her in trouble and lost at eleven years old.  He has bailed her out of jail for pranks when she was older. Roni always dreamed that Tabor was "The One" until the day Dayan brought the note saying that he wanted her out of his life and away from his job.  Soon after that he left with the other Breeds when they 'came out' to the media to stop the persecution.

Roni's father Reginald was a slimeball waste of humanity.  He is only around to cause problems or extort money from Roni.  He has left her alone to fend for herself without money or support for years. He tries to get money from the media by pointing out the mark on Roni's shoulder that Tabor had put there. Roni is secreted away and picked up by Tabor in a helicopter.  They are both laboring under misinformation spread by Dayan. They don't trust each other but the mating heat is extremely strong and they cannot resist one another.

The Breeds have been setup in the mansion that was once the home of the Genetic's council and Callan and the rest are working hard and boosting security. They still are having breakins from mercenaries paid to kill the Breeds and their women. Merinus is pregnant and Callan will do anything to protect her. Reggie breaks into the compound on the excuse he needs to see 'his little girl'. Roni wants him gone. The men want to know who is behind his being their.

This is the story of them sorting out the truth and what they really want and need.  It is a very good story and very hot sexually

Watching you read these books and seeing what all you think.  I still can't get over Lora Leigh's writing abilities and I am so enjoying being able to share my love for her books with other like-minded people.

All's I can say is "you've got good taste in books!"  Wink  Cool

Hi guys

Tammys - I hope you enjoy them as much as I have. Go for it.

Kathy K - I think she is very talented and compelling. I went to her site to read them chronologically except for the new ones which I have read as they came out.  I also ordered her Men of August .... something else to look forward to reading. I know you have enjoyed them . ... My fave so far is Elizabeth's Wolf.  WOW... what a great story. And Cassie from this one is the Cassie all grown up in Dawn's Awakening..... ties them together.

I, too, loved Elizabeth's Wolf.

It really, really got to me ~ and Cassie, well she's just a great character all 'round.  She also played a part in another of LL's stories... was it in Sherra and Kane's in Kiss of Heat?  I can't remember... but I do remember that both Cassie and Dawn's lives intersected on a few occasions.
