#50 A Stranger’s Touch by Cait London, Avon, 2008

Challenge: Does he fit the story? Yes

Does he suit the heroine?  Yes

Would he suit you if the adventure was yours?  Not too sure about this one

Does the guy on the cover represent your mental picture of the hero the author has penned and if you were casting a movie of this book, who would play the hero?  Not on the cover …. No idea as of now

This is the second of the psychic triplet’s stories. In At The Edge we got Claire, the empath’s story. This is Tempest’s story. She has the ability to handle an object and authenticate it and also to read the story of the owners and others who have handled it.  She is actively pursuing the Viking Wolf’s head broach that both her mother and sister, Leona have seen in their dreams and she has replicated in her jewelry art and sculpture.  She is on the trail of the original when she ends up in the home of a very upset former lover.  One who went to great detail to locate her after she walked out on their one-night stand.  He owns the piece she wants and offers her a deal.  Solve the mystery of his parents hit and run 30 years ago and he will give it to her.  Turn him down and he will melt it down.

Tempest wants that Viking’s broach.  Badly.  She agrees to see what she can find out with her abilities.  Tempest wears gloves 24 hrs a day.  She cannot touch anything without it talking to her.  She never touches anything without preparing herself.  She demands to see the original broach which Marcus Greystone has in a safe deposit box.  He brings her there and she touches the piece and passes out. It is the original.  He then puts it back and takes her to his home in Port Salem on the lake.  He owns a marina that manufactures pleasure boats.  His parents died in this town.  He wants the investigation to run with her in his home.  He tells the people that have been a part of his life to cooperate with Tempest but all of them are very leery and don’t want to open these old wounds. In the middle of this she has a stalker... a former colleague she has been avoiding. There are assaults, kidnappings and mysterious ghostly encounters just to keep the action going.

Tempest must sift thru the psychic remnants left by the people involved with his parents, the housekeeper, the woman who acts as hostess, the company and find the truth underneath it all with no cooperation from anyone. Tempest is vulnerable around bodies of water and a presence is calling her and Marcus is seriously concerned. An excellent read.  I can’t wait til October until we get the 3rd triplet, Leona’s story. She dreams the future.  It sounds like fun

This...

was going to be my next read but then the new Jeanine Frost book arrived so I'm reading it instead.  Can't wait to read this one, though, as I really enjoyed the first one.  Great review!
