53. Christine Rimmer ~ The Marriage Agreement SSE #1412 [Bravo Family Ties] 2001

     Another winner in the Bravo Family Ties series.  Even though I am reading these books one after the other because of the One Thing Leads to Another challenge, I would be reading these books just because, for now anyways, I just can't get enough... and with this story I'm up to seven in the series ~ with another seven to go... that of course doesn't count that books that are not presently in my collection.  They will be of course, but I'm patient... kind of.

RATING:
Excellent ~ 4 stars {yet another of Ms. Rimmer's heartwarming tales of love}
Sensual

SYNOPSIS:
     This latest Bravo story is Marsh's, whose father was the family black sheep, Blake (remember this name!!).  Marsh was born and raised in Norman, Oklahoma but he left home when he was 18 because of his father, who was one mean, twisted SOB.  When Marsh fled ~ it was kill or be killed ~ he left behind the girl that he loved, Tory.  But his father is now dying and has demanded that he return.  For the first time in 10 years, Marsh is back in Norman.
     Victoria (Tory) Winningham loved Marsh Bravo with her whole heart and when he left all those years ago, she was devastated... and pregnant!  She tried to let Marsh know, but all her letters were returned.  So she's gone on, has her own business and a wonderful nine-year-old daughter, Kimberly.  But now Marsh is back and Tory knows that somehow, she's going to have to tell him that he's a daddy.

MY NOTES:
     This book is a little different from the others in the series that I've read so far; well the story itself isn't, but at the end of the book there is a very strong opening that leads directly to the next story in line.  And OH, was I ever glad that I had it in my TBR!  And I have to tell you, of all the Bravo fathers so far, Blake's story, even though he's dead, is not over yet.
Marsh was truly to be commended in that he not only survived growing up in a terrible situation, but that he was able to turn around and make himself a far, far better man than his father.
   The interactions between Marsh and Tory were stellar.  Either of them could have been extremely resentful and bitter, but once again, Rimmer's characters are mature and, usually rational adults.  They are people that you could meet walking down the street ~ one of Christine Rimmer's strengths in creating characters.
     If you've never read any of her Bravo Family Ties books, I strongly suggest that you do.  IMO you could start just about anywhere and still come away with an appreciation for this author's writing; but if you are fortunate to start and the beginning and work your way through the series, all that much better.
