Chloe, American translator in Paris, doing a favour for a friend, ends up translating for gunrunners and having sex with one of them as he tries to keep her alive. Bastien is intrigued by his reaction to Chloe but determined to save her, despite his colleagues and baddies, but then he walks away. Then one of the baddies who's supposed to be dead goes after Chloe to get to Bastien.
I enjoyed this, didn't find Bastien as cold as some others seemed to, liked the way he tried to keep her reacting. Chloe was a bit over the top for me, find it difficult to believe in someone that naive

Chloe seemed quite sheltered...
She was sheltered by her family - in a loving way though. I think her sojourn to Paris was her way of getting away from the family and spreading her wings. Well, she got a bit more than what she expected, but heck, she did get Bastien. Lucky girl!
