From one of the previous stories ~ Bravo Unwrapped ~ we saw that both Buck, the oldest, and Bowie, the youngest, are the wild Bravo boys in New Bethlehem Flat. Both middle boys, Brett, a doctor and Brand, a lawyer, have striven to be the antithesis of their father as well as remain the calm, level-headed Bravo boys. Well, that's their intent! As to Brand, I can't really say if he's successful, but Brett was sure that he was as far from the wild personality of his father and oldest and youngest brothers as can be... until he found himself married to the girl next door ~ and falling head over heels in love with her. Definitely NOT in his plans!

FROM the BACK:
Well, the wedding of Angie Dellazola and Brett Bravo may have seemed
hasty. But in fact they'd known each other all their lives ~ and, as each of the was the self-appointed sole sane member of their respective families, what better way to ensure that they stay that way than to get married? Their marriage would be based on respect and common interests ~ none of the burning, all-consuming love that their family members seemed prone to....
And then, one week into their marriage, it hit both of them like a ton of bricks. Angie and Brett were wildly, maddly, passionately in love ~ with each other! This was not the calm, colelcted marriage they'd counted on.
Well, the best laid plans...
MY NOTES:
This was a fantastic story! Not only were we still in New Bethlehem Flat, after Buck and B.J.'s story, but there is a major carry-over of a number of characters; this was great!
When Angie, the town's new nurse, and Brett, the town's doctor, first ran into each other upon Angie's return home, there were no fireworks, no music, just very, very good friends... meeting over the birth of both Angie and Brett's nephew. Growing up, the two of them had often been inseparable; they themselves couldn't see what the rest of the families and, indeed the town, saw. That Angie and Brett were made for each other.
Truly this story typifies just what I love best about the theme of old-friends-become-new-lovers aka the girl-next-door and adds a generous dose of humour that Christine Rimmer does very well. I really enjoyed watching the comedy, but also somewhat tearful, discovery by primarily Brett, that falling madly in love doesn't necessarily turn you into a ranting, raving... uh, never mind... it did, but it was great anyway! LOL
