Alex moves to Alaska on a whim to find a husband, exchanging her New Jersey condo for a store and a cabin in the woods sight unseen, then Casey has to keep rescuing her when her dog falls off the ferry, her cabin is mice-infested and her store can't support her. He's determined not to marry, but will Alex overcome his reluctance.
This was funny, but I didn't like Casey's reactions so it sent me back into the slump - doesn't look like I'll be dragging Stephanie Plum out of the attic just yet

doesn't look like I'll be dragging Stephanie Plum out of the attic just yet
You know, I've got a number of Evanovich books starting with the first 3 Plums, then a couple others. Here's what's odd. I think she's hysterical. I love the writing. I find myself going over the first several pages thinking, "That's a great line. I wish I could write like this."
But for the life of me, I can't finish the book!
I have no idea what's up with that, but something just doesn't grab me, I set it down and never come back. And trust me, I've tried a number of times.
Like you, Sadhbh, I've still got the books. Paid a lot of $$ for them, and will, someday, read them. I just don't know why I can enjoy someone's writing so much but not get into the story.
