Tess and Shep meet when they're both married to other people but he can't resist kissing her once. She's an innocent twenty-four and regrets it immediately but when a malicious third-party tells her older husband, the shock associated with career stress triggers a fatal heart attack. Tess buries herself in work on a military airplane where she occasionally sees divorced Shep – a test pilot on the project. Can he persuade her to put their rocky start behind them and give love a chance?
The married aspect had me twitching from the start but Lindsay pulled it around and I enjoyed this, I liked the technical aspects, the way they didn't rush into romance and how they worked out their problems

Her older husband must have
Her older husband must have been unhealthy for news of a kiss to send him into a heart attack. Talk about overreacting!

He was told they were having an affair
as I said it was a malicious third party, and given that the husband
had sent her to see the test pilot and she was late back because of a
puncture, he had time to stew - he had been seriously overworking and
was under major stress, so it was the "goutte"

Wee-eell…
I suppose so. But I'd have a heart pang if the DH was having an affair, but I don't think I'd have a heart attack. Then I'd sharpen my knife and cut his b**** off and stab her through the heart. Vindictive, moi? Nah!
