Police chief Lucas finds a strange woman digging up his garden during the night less than a week after he's moved into his house, but it's only the ex-owner's daughter Katie, retrieving the time capsule her son and her late husband had buried before he got killed on National Guard duty. Lucas becomes Buddy to Katie's son Rusty and Lucas and Katie fall in love. But she's a reporter and he's got good reasons to distrust reporters, is there any hope for them?
