Featuring: Victor Argeneau and Elvi (Ellen, Ellie) Stone (nee Black)
Synopsis:
FATE GAVE HER FANGS...
Ever since an accident turned her into a knockout vamp, Elvi Black's been catching her z's in a coffin, staying out of the sun, and giving up garlic. She knows there's more to being undead than what she saw in Dracula, but she can't very well ask her mortal friends about proper biting etiquette. But when her neighbors placed a personal ad for her in the local paper, she never imagined she'd meet Victor Argeneau, a vampire who could have his pick of any woman—dead or alive.
HE'LL SHOW HER HOW TO USE THEM...
Rich, powerful, and drop—dead gorgeous, Victor's the perfect man for a novice neck—biter like Elvi. He's willing to teach her everything he knows, but he'll have to do it fast. Someone's out to put a stake through her new vamp life, and only Victor can keep her safe—and satisfied—for all eternity.
Comments:
One of the most recent in the Argeneau series, and I really liked it. And I was surprised and a little amused by the way the entire town Elvi lives in knows she's a vampire and treats the situation. If I had one problem with this book it was typos. Every once and a while, Elvi would be called Elsie. Her real name is Ellen, she used to be called Ellie, and since she's been a vampire, she's been called Elvi. Elsie does not fit in there at all. Grrr... But the story itself was fun, and as soon as I finished it I had to rush out and get no. 8 in the series.
The great gift is the passion for reading. It is cheap [Hah! It most certainly is not!], it consoles, it distracts, it excites. It gives knowledge of the world and experience of a wide kind. It is moral illumination. ~ Elizabeth Hardwick
