Accidentally Yours by Susan Mallery

book cover

My take: You have to admire the courage and guts Kerri displays in this story where she will do anything and everything if it means that it will get the funding needed to find a cure for her son Cody's terminal illness. She is a single mom who works as a hairdresser and has cooked up a scheme to get billionaire Nathan to donate the $15 million dollars necessary to fund the research that is oh-so-close to finding a cure to Cody's illness. The only problem is that Nathan doesn't care. His son died of the same illness years ago and ever since he has hardened his heart and all he thinks about is making more money. Even his sister hates him. And time is running out for Cody. But that doesn't discourage Kerri, after all she is Super Mom who will stop at nothing to save her son!

I really enjoyed the super hero stunts. It is a creative way to demonstrate a parent's love for her child and the lengths she will go to in order to keep him safe. I also found Kerri's "deal" with God to be a realistic portrayal of how some of us think life works.

Book blurb: WANTED:
