Accidently Yours by Susan Mallery

Series: HQN

Single mom, Kerri Sullivan’s nine-year-old son, Cody is suffering from a rare, degenerating disease and will die soon if a cure isn’t found. Fortunately, she found a doctor who’s work shows a lot of promise, but he lacks the funds to finish the job. Now, faced with losing her son, Kerri does the only thing she can do, blackmail Nathan King. while Nathan agrees to fund the researcher, he convinces Kerri to transform him from heartless billionaire to a generous member of the community. Unfortunately, Nathan’s transformation is too good and soon Kerri finds herself falling in love with him and soon she must choose between the wealthy businessman or her sick son.

This story is kind of an expanded Desire with the traditional uber-alpha hero and the heroine who makes a living as a hairdresser. Fortunately, Susan did an excellent job with such a stereotyped storyline by introducing a secondary romance along with several other subplots. She also managed to inject a bit of humor from time to time which is the real reason I enjoyed this story. If you like uber-alpha heroes and delta heroines, you might give this book a try.

March's Member of the Month!

Hello Trybble

It is delightful to see you again here on the blog writing about one of my fave authors. I have this book waiting in the TBR Mountain but since I am trying to do Lorie's challenge this month it will be there a bit longer. I have read many good things about this book and look forward to reading it.
Say HI to Jill from me.

Jeannie

Yes I am a readalholic and I don't want the 12 step program!!!

Delta characters

A delta character is a kinder way of saying too stupid to live (TSTL) or doormat. These characters leave you wondering how they managed to survive in the world long enough to find their significant other in the story. The heroine in this story was not as bad as some I've read, but it reminded me why I usually avoid reading Desires.

Take care................Wayne

Hi Jeannie:

It's been a while since I've been around and it's good to be back. Work has been very busy lately and if you've been reading Jill's posts family life has been crazy too.  Frown  But things have been slowly returning to normal on both fronts and I figured I'd try to catch up here and try to get back to my writing too. Smile

Take care........Wayne

Hi Wayne

So good to see you here.  I have this in my TBR pile.  I only skimmed your review as I like to read a book without having a opinion in my mind!  Like you I don't normally like or read the Desire line, I hope this proves to be better than that! Smile

Take care, happy reading,

Hi Donna:

I think my main gripe is that the book features characters that aren't realistic to me. But then again I find this true in most Desires. This book does have lots of cute and funny scenes which made it worth reading, but it could have been a great book with a better set of characters.

 Take care.......Wayne

Hi Wayne,

I just posted my thoughts on this book.  There were times when it was a bit over the top in regards to the heroine & other times I was loving the book!  I had to come back to read your comments now that I have also read it!

Hope things are going well, have a good week. Smile
