American Idol~ DISTURBING!

The things that people do to get on tv!!! Geez! What about the very disturbing guy that was singing to Paula that guy has creepy stalker written all over him! And umm yeah that Princess Leia girl was strange!

I think some of them just want their minute of fame, even if  it's embarassing.  They want to be able to say they've been on TV.  I was surprised to see how many of the awful people had family and friends waiting for them- friends shouldn't let friends audition and make fools of themselves when they suck!

I got hooked at the end of the first season, and have a love/hate feeling for American Idol. It seems that each year they let more and more weird characters in - they should have been turned away at the first interview. Got to be going for ratings, but geez, some of those people (chest hair guy, stalker, Princess Leia, the Gracie Slick chick) shouldn't have been allowed near tv cameras. I especially like to see people that live in my area, although last night the Glittery Gracie Slick chick was from Allentown, which is 20 miles from me. She was a whacko. Can't believe the parents (and grandparents, and friends) let these people blow up like they do. 5 minutes of tv time isn't worth demeaning yourself (or your family)!

Still, there was enough good singers that I'll continue to watch and cheer on my favorites.

I think the saying is some people will do anything for their 15 minutes of fame. In this case it's more like 5 minutes. Others I truly believe they can sing probably because their friends and family has told them that. There's a lesson to be learned in watching this part of American Idol. If you all have a friend or relative that thinks they can sing and you know the truth. Please tell the truth before they end up on AI.

Some of them just want their 5 mins of fame. I can't believe on some of these bad singers that no one has ever told them they are bad singers. I think it is a way for them to be on tv

Train wreck!  That's what I meant, and failed miserably at, to say.  *sheesh*

I think alot of these people that are terrible hope that they can become the next William Hungs. Remember how awful he was and Simon said mean things and people took pity on him so there he ended up with a record deal which I found to be sick. I really think some of these awful people will hope someone will take pity on them.

I like to watch the auditions yeah for the entertainment but to see if I can guess some of the actually good talent that will make it to the finals. I saw 2 or 3 last night.

I didnt see the whole thing...I fell asleep.

I remember one crazy chick who was just scrreeming and giving the finger to the camera...

It is amazing, how many people think they can sing. and what they will do forf 3 minutes on television.

I cant believe how serious these people are  taking these auditions...it is only one audition.   If you are serious about being a singer, or any kind of performer you will have to go through lots of auditins and lots of rejection.  If you flip off or scream at everyone who rejects you, you will not get very far.

Show business is a small world....everyone will know somone you know, and word will spread about what a big jerk you are, and nobody is going to want to work with you.

What about the guy who made it that collects his fingernails? he could sing but I don't know if I can get past the fingernails.

also the guy with the key and his dad has the heart. that was a little wierd.

I loved the last guy in the hat. The one that had the song for Simon.

I loved how they were all up there dancing around him

and simon gave him a hug

I bet Simon is right and someone will come out with that as a song

I record it since it comes on while I am at work. this works great then I get to fast forward during the horrible ones. I did that a lot last night. Really some bad ones  

But she just couldn't sing.

There were others that did home interviews that didn't make it. She still went overboard with the antics, but I guess that what you have to do to get air time.

She really wasn't as bad as I thought she would be but she just didn't have the image for American Idol and her actions afterwards was proof that she didn't belong there. She would be better off in a band and I'm sure she might get offers but she did go overboard with all the cussing and stuff. The showcasing at her home would have given her false hopes its hard to say why they did.

I didn't watch much of the second night but I couldn't believe that guy carried around finger nails in his back pocket.  I wouldn't have told anyone that I did that at all.  The guy who really had me laughing was the guy who performed last and song his own song and he also had Simon written on his hat.

For the most part lastnight the people were quite tame. Even though there was that one guy with the long hair and glasses with his own song. He was quite strange!!

That is just gross. I like watching AI but I don't watch all of the try-outs. However, I did see the bag of nail clippings. What is wrong with some people?

I have always watched every episode of A.I, but this year, I could not watch the auditions.  I will start watching when the good singers so to Hollywood (or is that San Diego!)  After reading all your posts, I feel I really made the right choice this year.  Too strange this year!

I have to say I loved that girl's puppy but she couldn't sing at all. I can't believe those boys told her she could just so she would come on there. I hope she watchs the show and sees them say that on tv
