Well, it's only been a few days (huh, 3 to be exact) since I last posted the progress of March's mini-challenge and I'm doing much better than I had initially hoped. My TBR isn't going down quite so quickly, but the potential for that exists. I guess it just depends on where I go over the next little while. To date I've read 16 books this month:
12 of them are harlequin imprints
2 are from my long-term TBR
14 are new-to-me authors (from 13 "books")
4 are new-to-me imprints
The latest additions to my list are both bold and underlined~ like this, while the previous NTM's are italicized.
- Cheryl Wyatt ~ Steeple Hill Love Inspired (x2)
- Donna Alward
- Claire Thompson and Carol Lynne (2 ebooks counted as 1 book)
- C.J. Carmichael
- Laura Anne Gilman ~ LUNA imprint
- Rhyannon Byrd
- Mia Zachary
- Margaret Moore ~ WorldWide Mystery (not the Canadian MM who writes historicals)
- Sarah McCarty
- Stephanie Doyle
- Sherri L. King
- Adrianne Byrd ~ Kimani Press Kimani Romance
- Anne McAllister
So that's four more new-to-me authors and another new-to-me imprint since my last report. WhileI am being challenged, I'm also enjoying it. Sometimes it's difficult to exceed your comfort zone, but if I've learned nothing else over this last year and some, it nearly always works out way better than anticipated!

you and me both
You and me both on the headway! This weekend I hope to be reading some books for the mini-challenge. I am so torn up inside over exploring new things this month and just catching up. I am trying to catch up on the short romances. As soon as I get ahead on HR, I get behind on MR. AND, I am ignoring some of the longer books/subscriotions I like in order to catch up. And I need to catch up so I can not feel so much guilt about all the unread subscriptions I have. I absolutely must get to my HH Medievals too this month!!!! I think I may have to take the spirit of this mini-Challenge into future months. This is one of my favorite mini-challenge topics but if I don't fcus and catch up some, my TBR will feel totally out of control.

That's always a scary thought!
I mean, my TBR is growing, seemingly on its own... nerve wracking anyone?
I actually had a subscription and I had to cancel... I just wasn't able to give it the attention that I wanted to... in fact I hadn't even touched three or four months worth of books.

dont be so hard on your self...
just read as fast as you can, and post after each book...I am sure it will help keep some of the pressure down.
just do the best you can.

Merri - I read your post and found myself wondering if you're
Catholic - because if you're not you could convert, you've got the whole "guilt" thing nailed LOL
I think you need to give yourself a break on the "should have
read this by now" front, but this applies to all of us not just Merri
You "should" be having fun reading, and that's ALL you SHOULD be doing,
be using for reading
LOL
because (if I may express my opinion) all this worrying about "shoulds"
is actually taking up time you "should"
I mean you don't see me worrying about not having finished Penni's last
M bag when she's about to send the next one and there are two other M
bags (from other people) about to arrive
Granted, there were about 150 books in the last M bag and it only
) but the difference is that I don't even try, and so don't have to feel guilty when I don't succeed.
arrived on Feb 21st, so I didn't have much hope of having it finished
(even for me who has habitually high hopes - hey that's alliteration!
Goals have to be achievable, but they can also be mutable, especially
reading goals, or they defeat the original purpose when you get
depressed about reading instead of enthusiastic.
So instead of thinking you "ought to have" read your subscription by
date X, maybe reread the blurbs of the books and realise you "ought to
have" read book X because
you really want to read it and join the discussion about it on
so-and-so's blog.
This Challenge is "supposed" to be FUN!
and that's one "supposed" I'm successful at, so that's good enough for me

I hear ya
on the out of control book pile. LOL Of course, if I didn't have a huge TBR I would be scared of running out of books to read too.
Kathy - What Sherri L. King are you going to read? I bought Fetish about a month ago. I still haven't read it but have heard good things about it, and her books in general.
I keep forgetting to participate in the challenges. Maybe the next book I pull should be a new to me.... of course I was planning on reading Jo Leigh's Coming Soon so I don't know.
I'm indecisive.
mini challenge interupted
If I'm particapating in a mini challenge my Desire books usually come the last week of the month and Iso minichallenges get interupted while I read them
So far I've read 8 books and 3 count to the mini challenge. One book I'm kind of stretching and counting twice because it's a new to me author and first time reading a full length ebook
