Be My Valentine (2007 -1991 & 1992) by Debbie Macomber (Mira)

This is a two for one deal. There is 'My Funny Valentine' in which Dianne Williams hires a man for the night to go to a community dinner. This stops her families efforts to set her up but it seems to snowball. Before she knows it she is more involved than she thought. Steve, her chosen man, is well willing to go along with Dianne. He reveals something at the end that makes the whole scenario seem so romantic.

Next up is "My Hero' in which an aspiring romance author is having a bit of difficulty coming up with a believable hero. She literally gets knocked into on the subway and sees her perfect hero. This seems like fortune dropped right in her lap and so she tries to use the man as a base for her hero but may have gone a bit far. She is just not sneeky enough in her surveillance and gets caught by said man, who thinks she is a bit off in the head. Bailey ends up going to his office to explain further and her hero, Parker Davidson, keeps coming back with more excuses to see Bailey. She has previously lost a few fiancees which may have something to do with why she is having such a hard time. Parker keeps up the book hero act all the way to the end.

While neither of these are the 'blow you away' type of books they are both very nice. I enjoyed both them and that is even though the only other Debbie Macomber book I had read left me not all that enthused to try her again. They are both nice sweet shorter reads that should appeal to a romance reader.   Smile
