Beginner's Greek

Yuck. This book is being marketed as "chick lit--only better." No way, I'm not buying that.

One of the things I love about good chick lit is the sense that we're all in this together. Like the characters, we have our doubts and our issues, but in the end, if these characters can make it, then we can too. In my opinion, the author of Beginner's Greek was condescending toward both his readers and most of his female characters. No solidarity there.

Thus I arrive back at my original premise. Yuck.
