Belated RWA Nationals feedback

Well, I'm writing in about RWA Nationals over a week late -- but better late than never!  As the conference concluded, I went home feeling like a princess -- what a FABULOUS first conference on so many fronts.  Here are a few favorite moments:

1.  The Nocturne Coffee was a blast -- it was wonderful to get to meet Jayne Hoogenberk, the E-Harlequin Community Manager, as well as regular Nocturne posters such as Lauren Hawkeye, Julesq, and MandyM.  We also got to meet Olivia Gates, who has written for Harlequin Medical and Silhouette Desire, and just sold a manuscript to Nocturne Bites.

2.  Having dinner with the lovely Lauren Hawkeye and Julesq.....along with Mira author Brenda Novak and paranormal author Christine Feehan!  I'm still floating.

3.  Having coffee with the fabulous and interesting Harlequin author Karen Kendall, who generously shared her wit and wisdom about getting started in the publishing industry.

4.  Volunteering to do Conference setup -- this was a lot of hard work, but FUN work and a blast meeting fellow writers in all different areas.

5.  Did I mention the classes?  What a great opportunity to learn!  My favorite sessions were presented by Mira author Stephanie Bond ("How to Make a Living Writing Romance Novels") and Steeple Hill authors Janet Dean, Debby Giusti, and Missy Tippens with Steeple Hill Senior Editor Krista Stroever ("First Year on the Job:  From The Call to Publication").
