My July 07 Harlequin Romance Best Friend...Future Wife has made it to the finals of the Booksellers' Best Awards, and I'm very happy about that. I'm thrilled too that I'll be able to attend the award ceremony in San Francisco in July. This will be my first ever trip to America and I am really, really looking forward to it.
Of course, I don't expect to win. I mean, have you seen the competition in the Traditional category? Here are my fellow finalists:
Hired by the Cowboy by Donna Alward
The Italian's Wife By Sunset by Lucy Gordon
Millionaire to the Rescue by Ally Blake
His Christmas Angel by Michelle Douglas
I've read and enjoyed all of these books. They're wonderful. So just being nominated alongside them is enough for me. Congratulations ladies!
Congrats too to Harlequin Romance author, Trish Wylie, for finalling in the Short Contemporary category with her Harlequin Presents, Her Bedroom Surrender.

Congrats Claire!
It's cool, isn't it! I'm so jealous of you going to nationals. Next year for me, I hope. I've started making plans already!
I agree with you on the field though. I'm not sure I could pick one above any of the others.

PJ Part;y
Claire, what wonderful news! Since it's your first trip you may not be aware of a Community tradition. On the Thursday night of RWA, we hold a PJ Party from 10:30 to midnight or so...with snacks, and treats and of course chocolate....all in our pj's. It's tons of fun and a wonderfully casual get together and a nice break from conference insanity. You are MORE than welcome and keep looking for your invite via emal!

Ooh, thanks Jayne! I have heard something about this tradition from blogs - I think it was Trish Wylie and Fiona Harper who were blogging for the Pink Heart Society last year. It sounds like fun. I'll look for my invitation and I'll be there.
