The Billionaire Next Door by Jessica Bird (Special Edition #1844)

I got this one because I liked the author's books with another publisher. Leaping Hearts is still my favourite, but this one comes close.

The story: When Wall Street big shot Sean O'Banyon finds out that his father died he is relieved. He returns to Boston to pack up his things and sell his house. Once there he gets distracted by his father's friend and neighbour. Lizzie Bond is unlike any woman he's met before. She doesn't know who he is and is more interested in his conversation than his money. But Sean has trust issues and won't let Lizzie close enough for her to understand him.

The Billionaire Next Door is a great story with some very hot love scenes. The heroine is a surprise, as unlike other heroines by the same author this one doesn't need rescuing. I liked it! And if you are into Jessica Bird's J.R. Ward vampire books than you don't want to miss a short mention of one of the Brothers.

Series: First in The O'Banyon Brothers

Rating: very good

Jessica Bird's stories...

are as big favourites as her JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood books.  She's always, always going to get you emotionally connected and I love that.
This story was fabulous... and I can hardly wait for the next brother's story... sometime this summer?  Or am I barking up the wrong tree?  Undecided

kalyko ~ Reading: One of life's little joys and a much needed reward!

tomorrow, I think I'll do myself a favour and read a Harlequin
Romance before bed, otherwise who knows what time I'll get to sleep

Kalyko: I think I like her

Kalyko: I think I like her Jessica Bird stories better. I'm getting slightly bored with the Brotherhood. I'm not very good with long series. I do hope that one of the brothers' story will be out soon. Both of them sound very tortured :-)

Sadhbh: I liked Heart of Gold, but Leaping Hearts I LOVED! You are right, don't start at night or you won't get any sleep. A friend of mine compared her to Catherine Anderson with her first book. Can't do that anymore :-) She is still as emotionally satisfying, but Bird has more of an edge.
