Blame It on Chocolate by Jennifer Greene

Botany researcher Lucy Fitzhenry has developed a new species of cocoa plant appropriately named Bliss.  Bliss is not only the best tasting chocolate ever invented (I love this woman already) but it seemingly has the power to release your inhibitions.  At least that's what Lucy thinks after a late-night work session with her boss becomes known as The Night of the Chocolate.  Surely quiet, almost mousy scientist Lucy would never seduce sexy chocolate heir Nick were it not for Bliss.

Things at the chocolate company get more complicated when Lucy discovers The Night left her not just puzzled and continuing to lust after Nick, but pregnant as well.  Lucy and Nick must figure out what to do about the baby in addition to their own feelings about each other and the other wacky characters in this warm, sweet story.

As a fan of Vicki Lewis Thompson's Nerd series and confirmed Nerd girl myself, I instantly loved nerdy Lucy who is more at home with her plants than with people, especially sexy, sweet men like the button-down boy with a naughty edge, Nick.  And you've got to love a world where they strive to create even better chocolate, too.

I started this book quite some time ago, but just recently got around to finishing it.  Something about this book just didn't quite work for me, but I couldn't tell you what it was.  I liked the hero and heroine a lot, and Greene created some wonderful secondary characters to liven things up, and the story flowed along smooth and easy.  But somehow it never quite sparked to life for me to the point where I could forget I was reading and feel part of the story.  I'd rate it a three out of five stars.  Just okay.

Blame It On Chocolate

I read this book awhile back, and have to agree I wasn't overly thrilled, and I happen to like the author's writing.  I do hope you'll read the book that is considered a sequel(but which in my opinion really isn't) called Blame It On Cupid.  It was a much better book, and totally fun!

I enjoyed this book.... maybe it was because of the chocolate and the fact that Lucy was so nerdy and loveable.  It wasn't rocket science but a light fun read.
