What is corporate raider Jake Vance doing at Blackstone's? With recent media leaks the shares have been plummeting. Is Blackstone's ripe for a take over? Does Jake plan to take over the company to tear it apart as he has done in the past? This is what his assigned assistant, Holly McLeod, is being blackmailed to uncover. But she finds out a huge shocker. But can she reveal the truth when he proposes to her, even if it is just business to him?
Mmmm we add another mystery to the story, someone is blackmailing Holly to spy on Jake. But who. Is she also the leak? With Paula putting the words kissy-mole in Jake's mouth as he thinks of the description of Holly, she makes him more real, more human. Little by little you hear him revealing his life growing up; this brings a vulnerable edge to him. A truly wonderful story. Looking forward to next month for the conclusion of this series and seeing if the theories that are swirling in my mind are correct.

I just finished this book this morning, too. I loved it!! I thought the romance was very well done and very sweet. This was my first book by Paula Roe, and definitely will not be my last. I loved Jake Vance!!

Tammy- I think I fell a little in love with Jake with each turn of the page and especially when he started retelling the story of his past.
Kate- This was a wonderful story.
Kel- I envy you your patience. I wait on pins and needles each month for the next story. I already want Yvonne's, NOW. Mysteries have been piling up throughout the series and looking forward to the big reveal.
