Book 20 - Witch Hunt Book 2: Persecuted by Lisa Childs

One thing leads to another...

Well i was already reading this one when the challenge started so I guess this is the first of a string. Smile But since I'm so swamped with books I HAVE to read for contest deadlines, I'm gonna be seriously stretching the boundaries of this challenge to try and link those books.

Elena is a witch, though she has denied her heritage for most of her life, especially since her mother had been persecuted by her father's mother. Her gift, or curse as she sees it, is prophetic visions. her latest visions show the continuation of the witch hunt against her family, resulting in the death of her young daughter Stacia. Elena will do anything to prevent that, even seeking aid from unlikely sources.

Joseph is the CEO of Elena's hated grandmother's company and is not someone who has any liking for Elena, though he is attached to her daughter. He is no hero by his own admission, having lived the harsh life of the streets growing up. But Elena's desperation to protect her daughter touches a place he thought long hidden and he finds himself drawn into the fight. He enver expected that his enemy would become his love.

I hadn't ead the first book in this trilogy yet and while i can see how reading that one would have helped fill in some back story, I felt this one stood pretty well on it's own. Lots of action, lots of sexual tension between Joseph and Elena. Though I thought they were both too stubborn for their own good though for different reasons, reasons which are validated by their pasts.

Persecuted by Lisa Childs leads to Dragon Heat by Allyson James starring Lisa Singleton

LOL

at the way you managed to link them.  I gave up!  Too many books to review etc to do that. The funny thing is I hated Elena after reading the first book... but really liked her once I read her story.  Can't wait to see how you like DRAGON HEAT!  But I have to tell you, BLACK DRAGON is MUCH better!

Yeah I'm not exactly

Yeah I'm not exactly following the rules spelled out in the challenge e-mail. but I figure if Lorie is going to allow people to link by theme, than she can't say anythign about melinking the way i did. he he. Specially since I used quite a stretch to link my audio I just finished to the one i had planned to do next already.

I saw some people say they didn't like Elena in book 1 o I htink in that way I'm better off reading book 2 first, no preconceived notions of Elena before reading her story.
