Sensual are some Harlequin Romances, and most Harlequin Americans, Harlequin SuperRomances, Silhouette Special Editions, and older Silhouette Desires and older Harlequin Presents ......in that, while the love scenes are described and you are there in the room with the couple, they leave much to your imagination and are generally more tender
Yummy, is a more explicit, more intense love scene ... common in today's Harlequin Presents, Silhouette Desires, some Blazes, some Harlequin Intrigues, and Silhouette Romantic Suspense ..... the sexual chemistry between the couple is generally more intense and mentioned more in the story

Hey Kathrine!
Hey, how are you? The site changed a little bit since Decemeber, eh?

Hey Tammy!
YES .... it's changed a bit
learning curve all over again ....... I've been busy setting up my "favourites" so I don't have to go all over the site to find the threads I follow ..... I'm new to RSS feeds too, so I'm setting up a few of those to see if I like that option too
I hope we can have Teams .... was wondering when we did the Beta testing how they were going to set that up .....
one very nice thing about a site change is that it encourages all the members to browse around and see all that there is to see .... I love discovering and rediscovering parts of the eHarl community .... sometimes it's just so easy staying in our own backyard so to speak .... now we have to move around and see what's next door too

Hi Katherine
Woohoo I found a fellow Quiet Canadian. I'm using this rating system in the doc. I've got ready. I posted one book review to see how. Do you have any more info on teams

Hey Christa .......
I think Lorie is working on it ...... so it's a wait and see
I thought I'd just play around the site and set up "my favourites" and stuff like that ...... as long as our books are ready to blog, there's no rush in getting them posted as book reviews .........
we didn't have all the editing tools .... Jayne just added a whole bunch .... so now we can change font colour and upload pics ......
I thought I'd practice awhile before getting into the reviews
glad you found me

Hey again!
I've been setting up favorites as well. I am thinking it will be quite handy.
Please let me know what you think of RSS feeds, I have never used them either.
I was wondering about teams as well....since Lorie has collected names for them. Like you!
I tend to stay in my own corner as well, but I think with the favorites, I will feel more confident to look around and post in other areas, without forgetting that I posted
I saw you mention a spell checker somewhere, that would be nice....since I tend to type faster than I should sometimes, lol
"I would be the most content if my children grew up to be the kind of people who think decorating consists mostly of building enough bookshelves"...Anna Quindlen
spellchecker is a must!
I hate misspelling my words! ... and I always notice they are spelt wrong after the time frame allowed for editing! LOL
RSS feeds show up as a special selection on your "favourites or bookmarks" in your browser ..... I'm hoping that they will help me find the threads I like to follow more easily ..... but I also like the option we have of view the most "recent posts"
did you notice that we can't center things? .... they never fixed that on the beta site ... I was wondering if they'd have it fixed for here .... I suppose not

Heyya! =)
How's it going? I haven't been on in forever, so I haven't talked to you in a while...
Waiting for the next BDB book to come out still?
Happy reading,

If life gives you lemons, give them to a lemonade stand and read!
re: spellchecker is a must!
Hey Katherine!
Yeah, I hate mispelling mine too....and its usually words like "the," and I just typed it too quickly and it comes out "teh."
The option of view most recent posts is great! Although I think there were a couple thousand posts overnight. There is no way I will be able to keep up with them all, or all the book posts. Did you see the counter already?
RSS feeds sound interesting. Maybe I will try it with one area, and see how it works. You said you have IE7 as well, right?
I still can't center anything, but I think as things progress, they may try and add fixes here and there. I would give it a little time and then put in the request. If I recall, when we were testing they had an option to do HTML, instead if the way we are typing right now. But then they disabled it. Maybe they will provide that option again?
Take Care,
Tammy

Oh that would be grand Jayne! ..... you know we Canadians need a spell checker so we can spell in American for our Members south of the border ..... I get such a hoot that we have "My favourites" !
btw ... there's a problem again with Lisa's signature font on the "Ask Lorie" thread

Hi everyone, I haven't
Hi everyone, I haven't blogged any books yet...i'm just wondering all over the new site and learning my way around, while reading what everyone i come across has to say, and learning quite a bit that way actually.
I'm not sure how the team thingy would work here...it might actually be more confusing i think...but then i'm still in the confused stages right now anyway, so that could be why i feel that way? lol

Hi Kathy ........
I'm holding off on the book reviews right now too ...... I know they are trying to sort out the Team stuff .... so I figured a little longer of typing up my reviews in a doc. on my 'puter isn't such a problem ....... after all in 2006 we didn't start blogging until the 19th! .... so not being set up right away is no biggee
I'm having fun just reading all the posts and reviews that others are making ..... plus setting up my favourites and seeing how all that works ....... I don't often have time to participate on the discussion threads, so it's been kinda nice being able to do that
I do want tomorrow to start a practice blog entry and play with all the different options we have for formating ....
I'm sure there will be quite a few bugs for the techies and hosties to sort out .... all good things take time .... and I do think the change over will be a good thing in the long run

Re: I'm looking for a spell
I ended up putting my reveiws through two spell checks. 1 in my word doc and once when I had cut and pasted them on eharlequin and both times wods like favour or colour were wrong

ROFL ......
well Christa, you know that their spelt right! .... in word, whenever it comes across a Canadian spelling I just tell it to add the word to the dictionery and then for future it doesn't try to correct the spelling ..... have you tried that?
you have mail

Spelling
Hi there, Canadians.
In Word you can change the default spelling to whichever form of English you want. I have mine set on English (Australia); I imagine there is also English (Canada); and then you don't need to correct colour and flavour and favourites. You'll find it under Tools, Language, Set Language.

Thanks Bronwyn .......
I should have known that, but hey that would be too easy! LOL ....... good tip, I'll go see about resetting that right now
........ thanks for the tip!
btw, what do you think of our ratings? .... esp. on the steaminess, does that sound about right? ..... always nice to have an author's point of view

Yes, that's me :)
I've been journaling the books I've read since the 2006 Harlequin Challenge ..... and recently decided to post my reviews on Amazon.com and Amazon.ca ..... I have tons yet to post .... put eventually they'll all be there too .....
I know on some of the older Harlequin / Silhouettes there are few reviews and they are even missing the back cover synopsis .... so if I can help a reader find a gem, that feels good :)
that's awesome that you noticed!

Of Course, I Noticed...
...because:
(a) they're balanced, well-written reviews
(b) many of the reviews of category romance are negative, as if the reviewers only bother to post about books that irritated them.
So, it's lovely to see some positive to balance the negative.

Oh! :)
Oh!
Thank you! .... I have noticed on Amazon, that a five star rating was automatic for some reviewers ... hardly fair really to give the best possible rating to all the books a person finds to be an enjoyable read ... I try to make my 5 star ratings mean something ... that's the top possible score, so it needs to be given out with much thought .... I'm not a "reviewer" .. I'm a "reader" ... and that's the perspective I try to express ....
thank you for your very kind words

Ratings
Interesting list you've got there.
What kinds of ratings would Harlequin Intrigue get?
http://crimefictionandfaith.blogspot.com/
Ratings for Intrigues ....
on the Sensuality scale that really ranges from author to author ..... in my experience they can be anywhere from Romantic to Yummy .... I have read a few Heat Wave scenes, but those are rare in an Intrigue, well in my opinion ... in recent years, I've found Intrigues to generally fall in the sensual - yummy category
hope this helps!
