Books for Vacation

So I am leaving this Thursday to get married, we decided to go off and get married in the Caribbean. Less fuss, and will be simple. About 20 family and friends will be joining us for the week, and we are anticipating a great time.

My only problem? What to bring to read?

Does anyone have any recommendations? I am looking at my shelves, and just can't decide. Should I bring Wrath and the rest of the brothers with me? Carly Phillips, light read for the beach? I have packed some Nocturnes I haven't read yet, but I am always afraid of not having enough books for the plane, airport etc.

RE: BOOKS FOR VACATION

Tongue out When Rene and I first got married, I didn't worry about what to read -- who had time for that?? Tongue out

Congrats

on getting married!  And oh, I never can figure out how many books to take or which ones to take!  I always overpack but sheesh, I'd rather have too many that too few....  And it's always the book I didn't bring that I start desperately wanting to read once I'm gone, too.

Congratulations!!!

Kim,

Only a romance reader would be worrying about what books to bring on her honeymoon....LOL!  All the best and many, many years of your own happily-ever-after!!

Congratulations!

Hmmm, well, perhaps bring the books that will most "inspire" you Wink     .... Wrath and his brothers may be a very good thing to take along!

Wishing you and your future husband all the best!

What books is your DH-to-be bringing?

I can't remember how many books I brought on my honeymoon, but then
it was a while ago, I'll be celebrating my anniversary next weekend Smile

Hope
your wedding goes well, that you have a lovely day that you can look
back on with joy and happiness and that your married life is full of
.... books Wink

Congrats and all the best

Congrats and all the best to you both. Your wedding sounds great. Will you have time to read? I would suggest something light that you could put down at a moments notice, your new hubby might have plans.

congratulations

wishing you all the best. Yeah I would agree and keep to the light reads so they can be easily put down.

Congratulations!

I would suggest packing a few sexier reads, for obvious reasons.  And I liked the idea of a few light ones that you can put down easily.

Hopefully you'll be too busy to read.  Did I just say that?  LOL  I think four books would be enough to get you through the flights and lag time.  Of course, if you pack Wrath and crew you can always reread immediately if you run out.

Congratulations on your

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage Kim!

I hope your Carribean wedding is everything you want it to be.

The BDB's are an easy read to pick back up and get re-immersed in easily, putting down might be the hard part.

I know it seems kind of strange to be bringing books to my wedding, but I know we will be spending time with family and friends on the beach etc. And I have this fear that if I don't bring enough books I can run out, and I hate that!

Besides, he is marrying me knowing about the book addiction lol.

Kim

I don't think it's that strange.  Our honeymoon destination was based on how many bookstores were in the area.  LOL

Have a wonderful time!

Kim - I don't think you're strange, you're a readaholic

Smile

but
while I fully expect you to want to bring books on your trip, I'm a
little surprised that a readaholic like you would ask for advice on the
number/type of books to bring

It's more just

It's more just recommendations.... I haven't been online a lot recently, and haven't seen any books blogged that have jumped out at me.

Congrats!!!!

Best wishes to you and the HTB. I took light reads with me to Jamaica, easily picked up and put down. I remember everything being pretty electric and my reading attention span "lacking".

Hope you have a great honeymoon and very little time for reading.

Interrupted reading

Hi Kim,

I snuck a peak at your reading list...see friend's lists DO come in handy Laughing and I think that C.E. Murphy's Negotiator series would be just the ticket for some escapist, relaxing down time.  I'm reading Heart of Stone and loving it, and the next one, House of Cards is available too....you can finish one and pick up the second...er, if there aren't TOO many interruptions.

Congratulations Kim, have a great time on your honeymoon, I agree with the recommendations for something light or fun, nothing too intense.  You want to be able to pop up at a moment's notice and join in the fun.  Another good thing for that is short stories, anthologies or magazines, all are great for putting down when you need to chat -- or whatever.
