A delightful story about a 17 year old girl who convinces her family to host a player during the summer collegiate baseball league so that she can find a boyfriend (but not the player they’re hosting -- she just means to hang out with him and meet the other players). Unfortunately, she and the player living under her parents’ roof hit it off straight away. A nice journey to them finally admitting they want to date. Lovely supporting characters. The author (who also writes as Lorraine Heath and under a 3rd name as well) came to our book club last week and says that she got the idea b/c by chance she was at a collegieate game (one of the teams that the fictional team played in the book) and it was “family appreciation night” and as she watched the host families go down to the field (diamond?) her imagination started click click clicking.
Nice kids, nice family, recommended for anyone's tween or teen.
