A Bride for the Holidays by Renee Roszel 2003

Trisha was
working in a coffee shop while trying to get a loan for her own doggie
boutique. She meets Lassiter Dragan, focused, highly successful
businessman  when he enters to get a cup
of coffee, one that she spills, through no fault of her own, on his cashmere
coat. He provides a name and number for her to contact to seek a loan. One
where she was about to experience yet another rejection until she mentioned
that “Gent” had sent her. Doors opened. Including to Lassiters office. Lassiter
had just been approached by a magazine seeking to do a story on his life. One
that would give free publicity worth millions, yet at the expense of him being
pursued by gold-diggers.

He develops
the idea to offer Trisha the required loan at an exceptional rate in return for
her posing as his wife for a few weeks. Trisha agrees. Lassiter soon decides
that a temporary marriage, with an annulment after the article was published
was the best course of action.

Trisha
introduces him to a different world, donating and serving his special Christmas
dinner to a homeless shelter, yet found his cold hearted approach to life an
unacceptable  barrier to their
developing relationship.

Renee is one
of my favourite authors and I enjoyed this book.
