CALIFORNIA DEMON: THE SECRET LIFE OF A DEMON HUNTING SOCCER MOM by Julie Kenner

Trying to balance life as a mother of two, a wife to a rising politician, and as a Demon Hunter is difficult… but Kate Connor is willing to take on the challenge!  Demon hunting is a dangerous business, however, and this time the demons seem to have their sites set on the very same high school Kate’s daughter, Allie, attends.  But who is behind the new demon influx?  What does the mysterious book Kate finds foretell?  And just who is this new science teacher, David Long, anyway?     

Julie Kenner certainly knows how to write a humorous but action packed tale!  CALIFORNIA DEMON has nary a dull moment as Kate juggles her life as a soccer mom with her secret life as a Demon Hunter.  Who can’t help but laugh at Kate’s quick thinking as she covers up her quest to keep San Diablo demon-free?     

CALIFORNIA DEMON can be read as a stand alone but I suspect that anyone reading one of the Kate Connor tales will be sorely tempted to read them all!  CALIFORNIA DEMON does reveal a few small spoilers for the first book, CARPE DEMON, but nothing that would spoil anyone’s overall enjoyment if starting with this second book in the series.  Reading CARPE DEMON first, however, will give readers a full appreciation for Kate’s reentry back into the world of being a Demon Hunter.     

Julie Kenner expertly weaves together the paranormal aspects with a very smart and sassy heroine to create one fabulous tale.  CALIFORNIA DEMON is easily recommended, particularly for readers who like their stories full of paranormal action and lots of humor.  CALIFORNIA DEMON is yet another hit from Julie Kenner!
