My manuscript has been requested by silhouette. The only issue I've ran into is how to do the large envelope. The manuscript is printed and labeled just as directed, but the envelope won't fit in my printer, and (gasp!) I don't have a typewriter. Can I hand-write this? I'd appreciate any feedback from ladies who've already been published or have at least submitted before. THANKS SO MUCH!

Of course you can! I always hand wrote my envelopes for the same reason as you. Just make sure it's legible and make sure you write REQUESTED MATERIAL on the envelope. And GOOD LUCK!

I always do handwritten ones. It is no biggie.
What they buy is the story and not the packaging.
Hope this helps

Hi Amanda - I've never submitted anything
but can't see what's wrong with a handwritten envelope as long as the manuscript is typed to recommendations.
Good luck! Crossing my fingers there'll be a party thread up for you soon

Wow, guys, thanks so much for the quick answers. Glad you both agree on the whole envelope thing. I've been chewing my nails over it! It's a relief to know handwritten is okay.
It's cool that you two have a list of published novels! I admire you both.
Thanks again!

Good luck with your requested submission - that's great!
On envelopes - I would ONLY do handwritten. This is because one of my early submissions to M&B went all the way round the world and came back to me unopened. The typed address label had fallen off! I guess the glue was old or something. My return address label stayed on.
So, yes, handwritten envelopes are good.

Sorry, Claire and v1978lp....
...for not getting to this sooner. I'm not sure how I skipped over this blog, but it was a boo-boo.
Thanks for your advice, Claire. I did send the manuscript in a handwritten envelope. And it was very hard for me to let it go with the postmistress - nearly as bad as sending my daughter to Kindergarten on her first day of school! I kept thinking that I might've forgotten something, or that the envelope might get lost in the mail, or, well, any number of scenarios. Still, I couldn't not send it. So, now I'm waiting. And chewing my nails - LOL!
V1978lp, thanks for the cheer. I'll post a blog to let everyone know how it goes. But one thing I've determined is that I'm willing to keep trying, over and over if necessary!
