Carried Away by Sue Civil-Brown

When Morris Feldman dies, he leaves healthy settlements for each of his 6 ex-wives but leaves his house to asipiring authors Danika Hilliard and Silas Northrup on the condition that the two of them live there for 6 months together to write their books.  Dani is a bit unsettled by the idea of sharing a house with a stranger like that but feels it is her only chance to see if she can ever amount to "anything except a high school English teacher" ... Silas is an ex-marine who seems like a decent enough guy except for the way he keeps taunting Dani with rediculous endearments like "teach" and "schoolmarm" - yeah.  Anyway, when various relatives of Morris's start showing up claiming they left possessions behind in the house and Dani starts seeing Morris's ghost, Silas and Dani figure out pretty quickly (or not) that something strange is going on.  To their credit, they do spend some time trying to figure out if the ghosts could be projections somehow like in Scooby Doo or something but once they realize the truth and see another female ghost that looks identical to Dani, they call in ex-wife number 1, Roxy Resnick (who had sent one of her daughters, Dawn Moonglow - the other daughter being Rainbow Moonglow who stars in Chasing Rainbow - to warn them that their lives were in danger) who is a trance channeler to perform some sort of seance like thing with all the other ex-wives and various relatives present to get to the bottom of things.

I have to say, as much as I like this author's work as Rachel Lee, I can't enjoy anything she's written as Sue Civil-Brown, probably because I don't go in for this kind of zany, otherworldly sort of plot and characters.  Neither Dani nor Silas is exactly my cup of tea, and ghosts generally don't do it for me.  And finally, I have no desire to read Rainbow Moonglow's story (although I am intrigued as to how a charachter can end up with a last name that zany - first names I understand, but with last names you'd think there would be more restraints).

I like this

author in all her incarnations. I have several of her books and have enjoyed them tremendously. Rachel Lee has written several really great books and as Sue Civil Brown she has written some crazy ones that I have enjoyed. Thanks for the information.
