Okay, so let's start off by saying I'm a sucker for ‘reunion' stories where the couple has lost their love along the way. Add the fact that she was pregnant when they split and he didn't know about it and that book'll rise to the top of my TBR pile.
This book delivers that premise with plenty of passion and emotional conflict. I don't usually read HP's because I like to throw the alpha males out the window due to their obnoxious behavior.
Having said that, I enjoyed this book. Although Francesco is an alpha male, he is sensitive to his wife's feelings. His self-confidence also wavers when he looks into a future that is bleak without Erin at his side. I liked that about him.
Because this book starts at a point in their lives when they're about to be brought back together, there is a lot of backstory involved. Usually, I skip backstory, but not this time. The author weaves the past and present together like a musical composition, giving us a treat of one or the other as the story progresses.
After reading this book, I think I'll keep an eye out for more Kim Lawrence books.
