Cold Case Cowboy by Jenna Ryan, Intrigue, #972, February 2007
Painter's Bluff seems to have a serial killer in its midst. A killer that seems to be targeting blonde females of Scandinavian descent. And newly arrived architect Sasha Myer fits the bill according to cold case Denver cop Nick Law who was called in by the town's mayor. While going to examine the site where the resort will be built Sasha and 5 other people are trapped. Now the danger seems to accelerate because it seems the killer is also trapped. And there might be a possibility that one of the people she is trapped with is on friendly terms with the killer. Who can she trust? And is Sasha being in Painter's Bluff a coincidence?
This book started out great. The suspense was good. The banter between the H and h was great. Sasha used humour to deal with fear. There was no beating around the bush that these two were attracted to each other. Then the sarcastic banter got a little old and the story seemed to slow down for me. The story seemed to veer off in all kinds of directions. I had to go back and re-read several paragraph to figure out how they got to that point. I found the story ended a little too abruptly without knowing what happened to several characters.
New to Me- This is a new to me author. I am tempted to try her books again.

I understand
It can get aggravating after a while with the same bs between the characters going on. I also understand the plot going off in different directions. It actually looks like an interesting read but it is older and I have soooo many now I think this time I'll pass. If I see it at the UBS I will perhaps pick it up. Thanks for the info

cold cases and cowboys...how
cold cases and cowboys...how did I miss this one last year? I know what you mean about sarcastic banter...sometimes it can be fun but too much is too much.
